On being grateful and humble ~ Smiles and Inspiration 2012 ~ Volume 1 Issue 16 Day 320 of 365

I have learned that much of my spiritual progress does not come

directly from God, but through my ability to humble myself and

hear Him speak through imperfect people.

~Francis Frangipane

The next few days will be about giving thanks, gratitude, staying humble and leaving ego at the side of the road.

Many of our best intentions have been diluted because of being proud or not really listening or watching as life passes us by.  Maybe even more correctly stated we pass life by.  Always in a hurry, not stopping to see the blessings that we truly have been given and the love we have all around us.

Staying humble and taking the time to appreciate our humility is so very important to being able to truly give thanks and appreciate the gratitude and fortune we truly all have.

We are fortunate to have a family as some do not.

We are fortunate to have health as many struggle with illness.

We are fortunate to have a home while so many go homeless.

We are fortunate to have friends yet many are alone.

Yes staying humble and putting pride from our heart and mind is such a important step to true gratitude.

Take time each morning to give thanks and give your humble heart the time to truly listen to the world around you.

You will feel more appreciation for all that has been given.

You will want to soak in the energy of peace and tranquility.

Take that time to be still.

May your humble heart be filled with joy, gratitude and love.
May you share this with those who feel it less.

Make that difference and share.

As always smiles to you and yours and have a great day : )

Your Daily Prayer

Lord, thank you for yet another day to praise and give thanks

May this season of Thanksgiving be one where I can not only feel gratitude but also share with those who may need to feel the same gift of joy and love.

May I be a better listener a better light that shines upon another persons life.

May I be guided well today.  May I share with practice and participation the simple truth of love, patience and the simple sincere power of the smile.

May I share laughter and happiness.

I thank you for the gift of my family, my friends and for the gift of life.

I give you praise and the glory for all of that

Protect us and guide us this day and protect us from moving hastily through the day.

Help us to share these gifts with others.

Help us to live a kinder and more joy filled life.

With humility and gratitude I thank you

Amen

Importance of Others ~ Smiles and Inspiration 2012 ~ Volume 1 Issue 12 Day 316 of 365

Everyone has an invisible sign

hanging from their neck saying,

'Make me feel important.'

Never forget this message when working with people.

~Mary Kay Ash

Yesterday was Veterans Day, I day selected by our Congress in 1954.  The original day was Armistice Day and that day was founded in 1919 by Woodrow Wilson.

In a speech President Wilson wrote:

"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."

Words that stand out to me are words like pride, heroism, service and gratitude.

These words stand out to me because we have so much pride for our heros our service men and women and their families.  Their service we owe much to and we need not just give them one day but every day express our gratitude.

It is important to express these feelings to our heros more than just November 11th.

We can all learn a lesson from these men and women who serve us.

The pride for country, for duty and honor that send them out to protect our borders and protect it all for future generations.   What qualities they have that send them out into harms way for all of us.

Amazing is one word but there are many more.

So thank you may we always, all of us make you feel important and recognized not just for one day of course but everyday.

Smiles sent your way today and everyday : )
