Thy Will Be Done ~ Smiles and Inspiration 2012 ~ Volume 1 Issue 19 Day 323 of 365 11/19/11

Those who believe that they believe in God, but without
passion in their hearts, without anguish in mind, without uncertainty, without doubt,
without an element of despair even in their consolation,
believe in the God idea, not God himself.
~Miguel de Unamuno

Very important words in the Lords Prayer, four of them, thy will be done.  God has advised us several times in the bible about his gift of prayer.  He has educated us that about asking and petitioning him in prayer.

We also know that God has given us the power of free will.  In other words we make choices since Adam and Eden in the Garden we have made choices that either take us closer to God or further away.  He gave us free will.  We choose.

God created a perfect world, it works by design and our faith in that design enhances our faith in him.

Many times in my posts from the past I agree with the quote by Diana Robinson that reads:

Prayer is when you talk to God; meditation is when you listen to God.

I agree and believe also that we should praise and give thanks to God more that we pray for things in our life.  Sure I ask for healing and for intercession for others.  I pray everyday for the safety of my children.
I also pray for guidance and wisdom.  So yes I ask for these intercessions and everyday I give thanks for the gift of life and direction that I have taken thus far.  I give thanks with a joyful heart.

I also believe in the energy of this world.  The energy that is mentioned many times in the 'Law of Attraction'.  Like does attract like.  What we think and dwell upon is who we are and what we will become.  Daily spoken affirmations do matter and do shape the world that surrounds us.

Without a doubt I understand these principles.  They shape all of us whether we trust and believe in them our not.  Just like the power of prayer we choose by free will if we are to trust and believe in prayer and in God.

But understand this, just because you say you don't believe in these principles does not mean they are not present in the world.

They are and they always will be.  It is not just faith there is also substance that time and time again shows that these principles do have results.

So 'thy will be done' these words in the Lords Prayer  explain to us that God decides when to intercede and when the lesson to be learned from that unanswered prayer is greater than the intercession.

We have free will to choose and God in his ultimate wisdom and creation has the choice as well.

Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.
~Garth Brooks

The power of prayer works sometimes we just don't see the result as fast as we like.

The quote by Steve Jobs comes to mind again.

You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards.

So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to

follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path.

~Steve Jobs, Stanford Commencement Adress, 2005

May you follow your heart, your instinct and always take time to listen in meditation.  The direction is there, we just need to listen in that quiet still moment the answer will come.

May you all be blessed and may smiles find you as I always send them your way : )

Your Daily Prayer

Lord, thank you for your word and your instruction regarding prayer.

May this day be a day where I can share your word not only by word but by my actions.

Lord you know my heart and you know my faults.  May through my seeking your word and listening in that still quiet moment find wisdom and direction that guides me closer in thine will for me

Thank you for the gift of life and faith that your grace is enough.

May I appreciate life each day, the gift of love that you have placed in all of our hearts from birth.

May I talk time to share that love not only with myself but others.

Help me to make a difference during this season of thanksgiving but also guide me to have this heart and spirit the rest of the year.

May this season of Thanksgiving be one where I can not only feel gratitude but also share with those who may need to feel the same gift of joy and love.

May I be a better listener a better light that shines upon another persons life.

I thank you for the gift of my family, my friends and for the gift of life.

I give you praise and the glory for all of that

With humility and gratitude I thank you

Amen
