Happiness is the result of my decision to be happy.
There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
In other words, happiness is a feeling I tap into, not an outcome of events.
I can be happy without changing anything in my life except
my relationship to my own thinking.
I decide to be happy and commit myself to making happiness my
state of mind, rather than relying on a set of circumstances to do it for me.
: o )Richard Carlson
Take the time to read that again. Happiness is a feeling we tap into, not from an outcome of events. We decide to be happy and consciously making happiness the only state of mind.
We decide, not the weather, not anyone else, not the results that we achieve or fail to achieve. We decide to make this our state of mind.
So why do so many people not embrace this fact? Why can't we just make this statement true for those who hurt, those who feel anger and those who seem to fall and stay in depressions.
No doubt some events in our life dicate a state other than happiness.
We lose a loved one or we have a failing health or maybe just fate grabs us by the collar and shakes us around a bit. Life can have a multitude of effects and outcomes. We will sense sadness, anger, remorse from time to time. It is indeed a fact of life.
But can we choose to walk away and move forward quicker towards that state of happiness?
Can we? Sure we can and when we decide that enough pain has been felt or enough sadness has been shared with ourselves we can move on.
Now let me take a step sideways here. If we experience a loss I in no way want to tell anyone that we need to stop and get over the grief process. That is not so easy. When we lose someone that we know or care about there is a certain amount of greif and sadness that will indeed flow.
Thats for certain. However can we at the very least ask ourselves, the question regarding those moments of grief.
Would the person we lost want us to share more in the memories of joy and reflect on the good times shared or would they want us to grieve and feel that intense pain.
If we really asked that question almost always it would be better to reflect on what was and those memories of happiness and joy than continue to grieve on what we will no longer share.
If you have that sense of loss and your in that moment of pain and despair I truly want you to know that you will feel the strength to move forward. You will and you will always cherish the memories made or shared with the one you have lost.
Prayers and silent reflection are indeed necessary for the strength to move forward. It can happen and you should let it happen.
This weeks affirmation (New)
This day is mine to reflect and project the joy in my heart for this gift of life. I choose to live a life that shapes and molds the energy that surrounds me. I am a perfect design and I choose to let that design in practice make a difference for others. I love that opportunity that has been given to me.
Enjoy your week, share a smile, share in some laughter and dream big and love always : ) Smiles to you this day and everyday
