Generosity is another quality which, like patience, letting go, non-judging, and trust, provides
a solid foundation for mindfulness practice. You might experiment with using
the cultivation of generosity as a vehicle for deep self-observation and inquiry as well as
an exercise in giving. A good place to start is with yourself. See if you can give yourself
gifts that may be true blessings, such as self-acceptance, or some time each
day with no purpose. Practice feeling deserving enough to accept these
gifts without obligation-to simply receive from yourself, and from the universe.”
~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
What a powerful thought he has shared with us. What if we practiced letting go and non judgmental.
What if? We worked only on looking within ourselves and working on our own path along life's journey.
The energy that makes up this world flows freely. It responds to our words, it responds to our judgments and often it, that energy does not live in harmony when we speak of dislike, hate, and judgement that has no redeeming value than to just tear down.
When we judge to improve upon, to build up and to enhance we have the best interest in improving something. But when we judge without all the facts, or with hatred or jealousy then indeed we are tearing down instead of building.
The Bible in Matthew Chapter 7 advises us not to judge others. It instructs us to focus on our own flaws first and work on them instead of tearing down or judging another.
We all need to practice more tolerance, more acceptance. Not of anything evil or against our own values but we need perhaps to focus on improving our own actions, sharing love and laughter and not scowls and hate or apathy.
We all need to smile a little more, share love a little more, dream more about the impossible and turn it into the here and now called reality.
Any small group of people can change the world for the better. One step at a time, one smile at time and one act of kindness and love at a time.
Is this day, this moment right here and now your time to make a difference?
A fair question wouldn't you say?
As always smiles sent your way today and everyday : )
