diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing
money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to
heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and
trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.
~Erma Bombeck
This week has much to offer, but our family has more and it always will. This week we will gather together and sit around a table or tables, some families are bigger than one table can handle. We will sit and give thanks, share stories, express our gratitude and eat, yes we will eat.
We will toss around a football perhaps outside, stroll in the yard, watch some football and share in the holiday of thanksgiving. Quite a day indeed. It takes a whole day to recover from this but no after we have slept a few hours we will stand in line the next day for 'black friday' and try to shop and maneuver for that gift at a price we probably would see later in the season anyway.
The American way. : )
Forty days left in this year. We have so much to do with so little time til we anticipate 2012.
This online essay and devotion I have called Smiles and Inspiration 2012 is 21 days old. For the past three weeks I have shared with you some thoughts, my thoughts on family, smiles, making a difference, goals and success.
I write to inspire, educate, entertain and express to you the power of a simple sincere smile. I try to smile through my work on Make ME Smile Online and of course here on Smiles and Inspiration 2012.
I hope you stroll around the site. I hope you find value in the recipes and the online forum. I hope you request prayer if you need it. I hope you find the inspirational pictures and video helpful during your daily and weekly activities.
That is the hope and wish for you during this experience.
Family, so much we take for granted at times. As the quote above states we do so much together and love is a constant but sometimes we tend to overlook and hurt each other as well.
Words have been written about the family and how it can be so full of nurture and yet so painful at times.
But it is in the world of gratitude that if we would linger longer within we would see the true value of our mothers, our fathers, our sons and daughters. Sister and brothers and uncles and aunts would have so much more affection to give if we just expressed our gratitude and appreciation more.
Oh sure, there are crazy family members and hard to deal with people in all areas of life. But with family we should give them a free pass. Try to understand them more than a stranger on the street we politely smile at and walk away from.
No family has its riches, we just need to observe and understand them and how they can effect our daily lives for the better.
My children mean everything to me. They are indeed diamonds and gems in my life. They inspire me, the fill me up with joy and yeah they can push a button here and there but they know how much they are woven into the fabric of my life.
I do my best mind you each day. To instruct, to teach the values of life, of kindness, of honesty and to protect each other.
I do my best to share and try to give them love that is ever present to them.
These essays of sort and prayers are for you the reader and I share them with love and gratitude. But I also leave them behind for my children. As I move on, much later on in life I hope, lol. I hope they can come back and feel comfort that these were left behind for them as well.
I am sure they will find love written within these posts over and over again. This was done with intention.
So this week give love and share your values with your family. Take time to listen to the stories of your brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles no matter how crazy they may seem. They are family and perhaps the greatest riches of all come from families.
I am rich with mine. My cousins, my aunt and my children give me so much joy and smiles that go for miles. I thank them, today and forever.
So I share that smile for miles with you. Always and I thank you the reader for stopping by : )
Have a bless week and til next time. Smile : )

Your Daily Prayer
Lord, thank you for the gift of family.
Thanks for that love that is given and shared this time of year. May we become filled with gratitude that will last much longer after the last leftover has been eaten.
Help me always to be able to see outside of the moment and understand another persons point of view.
Allow this day to be a day where I can share your word not only by word but by my actions.
Lord you know my heart and you know my faults. May through my seeking your word and listening in that still quiet moment find wisdom and direction that guides me closer in thine will for me
Thank you for the gift of life and faith that your grace is enough.
May I appreciate life each moment shared this holiday season.
May I never forget the reason for giving thanks and for celebration of love and share in that spirit on a daily basis.
May I never forget the reason for giving thanks and for celebration of love and share in that spirit on a daily basis.
May I talk time to share that love not only with myself but others.
I give you praise and the glory for all of that
With humility and gratitude I thank you
Amen
